About THCCP Project

The Hot Cabe Chili Pepper Project (THCCP) is primarily an endeavor on my part to record and document all the chili peppers (sweet, mild, hot and deadly) that I have grown or come across, especially landraces of chili peppers from Asia. Besides that, the project will eventually make available the varieties collected so that more people, especially from this side of the world, can enjoy planting various chili peppers. Lastly, this project will also strive to breed chili peppers that are more 'artisan' and less commercial, with focus on multi-functional plants rather than focusing merely on yield or heat.

  1. Collect, record and photo document my chili pepper growing experience and various chili peppers cultivars.
  2. Make my collection of the seeds available for those that want to grow it.
  3. Make 'artisan' hybrids of chili peppers.

Where am I: In tropical Malaysia, where it is hot and humid most of the time. In our lowland climate, the temperature ranges from high 38oC to low 18oC and humid all year round. So works well for peppers that like heat, but not too kind to sweet peppers and rocotos.

Cheers!

HH
